Real Invasion of the Body Snatchers
by Tom on Sep.11, 2010, under Article, Space
An odd but largely ignored thing happened in India in July 2001. It rained red … meaning the raindrops were red. I’m sure it freaked out a few locals at the time, but it wasn’t widely reported because there wasn’t much to report. Red rain happens from time to time, mostly a result of a storm picking up dust before dropping it along with rain.
As it turns out, this time it apparently was different. A local physicist decided to investigate the rain and found cells in the rain that didn’t look right. He postulated a theory a few years later that maybe a comet had exploded and seeded the rain clouds with something extra-terrestrial. Well …
Today, after a further four years of studying the cells, joined by a leading panspermia theorist from the UK, Chandra Wickramasinghe, Professor Louis has published claims that they are unlike anything found on Earth. He says the cells – inert at room temperature – begin to reproduce at 121C.Within two hours of being exposed to the heat, “daughter cells appear within the original mother cells and the number of cells in the samples increases with length of exposure”, they say in the new report. While many spores on Earth can survive that kind of extreme heat, none have yet been discovered that can reproduce in those conditions, much less require it to begin reproducing.Today, after a further four years of studying the cells, joined by a leading panspermia theorist from the UK, Chandra Wickramasinghe, Professor Louis has published claims that they are unlike anything found on Earth. He says the cells – inert at room temperature – begin to reproduce at 121C.Within two hours of being exposed to the heat, “daughter cells appear within the original mother cells and the number of cells in the samples increases with length of exposure”, they say in the new report. While many spores on Earth can survive that kind of extreme heat, none have yet been discovered that can reproduce in those conditions, much less require it to begin reproducing.
That’s from an article at News.com.au that is worth reading. Take a look.
Bigfoot Video Out of Oregon on the McKenzie River
by Tom on Sep.11, 2010, under Bigfoot, Sighting, Video
The web is buzzing over the “latest” bigfoot video filmed on the McKenzie River in the Oregon wilderness. I emphasize “latest” because one of the interesting aspects of this new video is how old it is. It was actually filmed way back in 2008 by a group filming a spot for a fly fishing blog. This was reported on BFRO. The fact that it was filmed so long ago speaks to the truth of the stated purpose of the video. It really doesn’t look or feel like a fake video designed to get a guy in an ape suit. It seems to be what it claims to be in every way. The discovery of the interesting “figure” happened way after the fact and was serendipitous.
To see what the hubbub is all about … view the video below. At about 1:44 on the left side of the screen you will see a “dark figure” walking back towards the tree line. A few seconds before this the camera pans the same section of the shore and there clearly isn’t anything dark, big or walking. The camera swings away and then back there clearly is something walking away. The clip is incredibly short and in no way clear as to what exactly is there … but it is intriguing. My first thought was that perhaps it was a moose (it’s very tall) or some other large animal … but moose don’t move like that.
Saying this is a definitive video would be a severe stretch … but it is interesting.
